ELEKTROLOUD LAB NIGHTS

Are you a music producer or do you want to become one? ElektroLOUD lab nights are a place for musical exploration, creativity and inspiration, where you can get technical support, mentoring and be part of a community!

LOUD! and Popsenteret invite people who are into music production and identify as women or non-binary to come and hang with us on our monthly meetups! Whether you’re a professional or just starting out doesn’t matter.

Each lab night is centered around a topic and starts with a little inspirational programming. After that, you’re welcome to hang out and work on new or existing projects, receive feedback, support and exchange experience and knowledge. It’s free to join, and there will be food! :) At ElektroLOUD lab nights we are gathering artists, producers and aspiring producers that work in different genres, in different software and at different levels. Mentors with experience in different kinds of DAWs and other software are present to guide and help you if needed. We will also invite cool guests to come visit!

Come and hang out, learn a new skill, get that creative push, make a new friend or start a new collaboration!

NEW LAB NIGHT DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!

Bring your own computer/gear if you can. It is possible to borrow computers, instruments and other gear from us (limited capacity). Lower age limit: 13 years.

Hope to see you at Popsenteret in Grünerløkka, Trondheimsveien 2, 4th floor! The facilities are accessible for all, with an elevator located inside of the main entrance.

ELEKTROLOUD – FALL 2023

Are you curious about music production and want to learn how to make your own beats?  Do you want to learn how to record and finish a song completely on your own? Perhaps you’ve written a few songs and wonder how you can use music production software to create the soundscape and expression you want? Then ElektroLOUD is for you!

ElektroLOUD is a collaboration with AgendaX. The program span over the course of three weekends in Oslo each fall.

Dates and registration for the 2023 fall program will be announced this spring! For questions regarding the course, please contact us at: vilde@jmn.no.

About the course:

ElektroLOUD is for girls, trans and non-binary youth ages 14-26 years. While gender differences in other music genres are gradually decreasing, there's still a large gap in music production and electronic music. With ElektroLOUD we are working to change this imbalance!

Over three weekends you will get an introduction to electronic music production by experienced instructors. We will cover topics like beat programming, sampling and studio recording, using the digital audio workstation Ableton Live  as our main tool. The software is included in the course, every participant will be given their own personal Ableton Live Intro license, so they can continue to produce music even after the course has ended. We will help you with the downloading, installing and registration of your license on the first day of the course.

You don’t have to have any prior experience with music production software, musical  instruments or music theory to be in charge of your own musical expression! We have a hands on, practical and playful approach that will have you making cool sounds in no time! The course program will be just as  fun and relevant if you have prior experience or if you’re curious and want to try something for the first time!

The course fee is 1200 NOK, with the possibility of participating at a reduced price or even for free. The course fee includes all lessons, food, Ableton Live Intro and additional gear. Bring your own laptop and headphones! If you don’t have a laptop, you can borrow from us - make sure to let us know in the registration and we’ll fix it without problem!

Ps. If you’re slightly under or over the age limit, you might still be able to go! Send us an e-mail at vilde@jmn.no and we’ll keep you in mind if any available spots open! :)
